Cosmetic Services

Our providers are committed to delivering quality, individualized cosmetic services for our patients.

Cosmetic Consultations

Your cosmetic consultation will start off with a skin analysis and discussion of your home care regimen. Feel free to bring in the skin care products you are currently using for reference.  Potential adjustments to your home care regimen will be discussed, as well as any recommended procedures to address your skin concerns.

There is a $25 fee for cosmetic consultation with aesthetician. This will be applied toward any products purchased or scheduled services.

Chemical Peel

Chemical peels are superficial procedures to remove surface layers of skin, revealing smoother, brighter, younger-looking skin. Chemical peels can help fade brown spots and an uneven skin tone from sun damage, help fade brown or red discoloration from past breakouts, and generally make the skin’s surface look fresher and younger. Having peels done on a regular basis (say, every 6-8 weeks) will lead to collagen stimulation that improves the appearance of wrinkles. Our peels come in three different depths that are customized based on patient’s skin type. Depending on skin sensitivity and which peel the patient chooses, aftereffects may include a “sunburned” appearance, dryness and peeling skin.

This treatment makes use of a minimally abrasive instrument to treat mild discoloration and reveal a brighter, more youthful complexion. This is a great procedure on its own, but it is also an excellent “jump start” to remove old dead skin before starting a more aggressive procedure. The skin may be somewhat pink or red immediately following the procedure, due to its abrasive nature. Downtime consists mainly of dry, flaky skin for a few days post procedure.

Dermapen Microneedling

Dermapen is a microneedling treatment that harnesses the skin’s own ability to heal itself. Dermapen is used to treat acne scarring, reduce pore size, tighten the skin and soften fine lines. Topical lidocaine is applied to the skin for 30 minutes prior to the procedure to reduce discomfort associated with the procedure. Immediately following the treatment, the skin takes on a “sunburned” appearance, which usually resolves in 1-2 days.  It is typical to have pink dots on the skin from pinpoint bleeding. Some patients may even experience mild bruising that usually resolves within one week.

Facials can improve and maintain skin appearance and quality. For our Customized Facial, a detailed analysis of your skin is followed by a series of cleansing and exfoliating methods with steam, extractions (if necessary), and massage of the face, neck and shoulders.  A mask is applied, followed by a moisturizer. Each facial is customized based on skin type and concerns. Many find the relaxing nature of this procedure mentally therapeutic. We also offer a Mini Facial, which is an abbreviated facial treatment, eliminating massage of face, neck, and shoulders and focusing more on extractions (great for teenagers!).

High Frequency

High frequency is a quick, effective procedure used for the treatment of acne. A glass electrode is applied to the skin, creating a “sparking” effect. This creates a germicidal effect, eliminating bacteria and inflammation deep within the pimple. Discomfort is minimal, with no downtime or recovery period. Results are seen after just one treatment. Patients typically notice immediate reduction in inflammation, with decreased redness in the days to follow. This is an excellent service to be performed two to three days before an important event, or in general to help diminish acne.

Cosmetic Waxing

Waxing is a semi-permanent form of hair removal that removes hair from the root. The hair in waxed areas will not grow back until anywhere from two to eight weeks after treatment.

Botox is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles to improve the look of moderate-to-severe lines affecting the forehead and corners of the eyes.  The most commonly treated areas include forehead lines, frown lines, and the “crow’s feet” lines.  The effects are temporary but usually last 3-5 months. Botox works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity and relaxes facial lines.

Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers come under many names including Restylane, Juvederm, and Perlane. A naturally occurring substance that is present within the skin, hyaluronic acid provides support and hydration of the skin. Dermal fillers instantly smooth away wrinkles around your mouth and nose. These fillers can provide soft tissue volume restoration, including cheek augmentation, along with lip enhancement. With just one treatment, you’ll get smooth and natural-looking results that last from six months up to a year.

The active ingredient in KYBELLA® is a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, KYBELLA® destroys fat cells, resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic goal.

At each treatment, you will receive multiple small injections under your chin, and the injection process takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Results are seen roughly 4-6 weeks following treatment. Each Kybella treatment session is given at least 1 month apart. Since everyone’s chin profile is different, the number of treatments varies from patient to patient.

Laser Hair Reduction

The intense heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which inhibits future hair growth. Laser hair reduction is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair because the laser beam targets the pigment (melanin) in the hair. However, advances in technology have made laser hair removal an option for people who have darker skin. For best results, you may need anywhere from three to eight treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart. The procedure is quick with minimal discomfort.

Laser Redness Reduction/ Spider Vein Treatment

These lasers work specifically on visible broken blood vessels under the skin, as well as diffused redness. Most patients experience a 50% reduction in redness with one treatment. Expect some redness immediately after the treatment, which usually lasts for an hour or two after treatment. Some swelling is also possible, which typically lasts for two to six hours, but sometimes lingers for up to four days. You may also experience purpura, or bruising; this side effect, when it occurs, may take four to seven days to resolve.

Laser Treatment of Pigmented Spots

The skin rapidly absorbs the laser’s light energy, vaporizing the unwanted melanin and lightening pigment. Patients can expect crusting of the affected area after the treatment, which should resolve within the next one to two weeks. Redness immediately after the treatment is typical, or at times a purpuric reaction.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Lasers use extremely intense pulses of light to break down the ink in the tattoo into tiny particles. Once the ink is broken down, the particles get absorbed into the body through the lymphatic system (the body’s natural filtering system), and the tattoo gradually fades. The number of sessions you need will depend on your tattoo. Every tattoo is different and they come in all shapes, sizes and colors, meaning some tattoos are easier to remove than others.

DOT Therapy Laser Treatment

DOT Therapy can be performed safely on nearly anyone with signs of aging skin or acne scarring. DOT Therapy laser utilizes a “dot” pattern to create thousands of microscopic perforations in the skin while leaving the areas around each “dot” intact. This allows the skin to heal more quickly than with many traditional resurfacing lasers. After the procedure, your skin will be red, similar to a sunburn. The redness continues for a few days. In most cases, you may resume applying makeup after about three days. By day three or four, you will experience some peeling as your fresher skin appears. In most cases, your skin will return to its normal appearance after 7 to 10 days. Some may experience swelling and/or crusting of the skin.

Electrodessication involves using heat to remove specific skin lesions, including sebaceous hyperplasia, seborrheic keratosis, and small cherry angiomas. Treated areas develop a small scab that typically resolves in 1-3 weeks, depending on skin type and how aggressive the treatment was. Lesions that are larger and have been present on the skin longer may require more than one treatment.

Eyebrow Tinting

Eyebrow tinting is an excellent service for patients who depend on pencils to darken lightly colored brows, or for those who notice stray white or gray hairs. Your esthetician will work with you to customize your tinting experience to be as dramatic or as subtle as you would like. Results last about 3 weeks.

Eyelash Tinting

Eyelash tinting is perfect for patients with blond, reddish, or light brown hair that would like more clearly defined eyelashes. Tinting your lashes can dramatically enhance the look of the eye area and is a time saving alternative to using mascara. Results last about 3 weeks.

TCA Cross

This is a technique of chemical peeling used to treat deep acne scars, such as ice pick scars. These scars can be very difficult to treat and tend not to respond well to laser treatments or microneedling. TCA, or Tri-Chloroacetic Acid, applied at a high concentration stimulates collagen formation from the bottom of a deep acne scar. This collagen formation is gradual, and over the course of treatments, collagen fills up from the depths of the scar. TCA Cross chemical peel does not treat the full face, however TCA is placed in focal areas of acne scarring. This process elevates the scar so that it may be more effectively treated, perhaps along with other types of scarring, by way of laser resurfacing and microneedling. As with many other acne scar treatments, multiple sessions are advised for the best results. As a guide, we encourage patients to complete at least 2-3 sessions, over a period of 3-4 months.

Restylane, Juvederm, & Perlane
